Jennifer Aniston and Dennis Quaid Make 'The Switch'

It's wedding bells for Jennifer Aniston and Dennis Quaid ... at least in the movies.

Aniston and Quaid are set to play a wealthy married couple caught in the middle of a kidnapping scheme that doesn't quite go as originally planned in "The Switch," according to Deadline.

"The Switch" serves as a prequel to "Rum Punch," the Elmore Leonard novel that Quentin Tarantino adapted as "Jackie Brown" back in 1997. The film, which takes place 15 years before the events of "Jackie Brown," stars Mos Def and John Hawkes as Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara, career criminals who team up to kidnap the wife of a corrupt Detroit real estate developer.

Aniston is set to play the role of Mickey Dawson, the kidnapped wife who discovers, "Ruthless People"-style, that her husband, to be played by Quaid, has no plans to pay the ransom for her safe return. She ends up collaborating with her kidnappers on a Plan B that incorporates a big score for them and sweet revenge for her.

Aniston and Quaid join a cast that also includes Ty Burrell, who plays a married man stuck in a moral dilemma after he witnesses Mrs. Dawson's kidnapping, on whom he harbors a secret crush.

Jennifer Aniston proved last summer that she's still got quite the set of comedy chops with her bravado performance as a nympho dentist in "Horrible Bosses." Meanwhile, Dennis Quaid's trademark ear-to-ear grin is perfect for the role of a shady millionaire who's just itching for a comeuppance.

Above all, it's just nice to see this rather odd and unexpected project attracting such a cool cast!

Production on "The Switch" is scheduled to commence in May under the direction of Dan Schecter ("Supporting Characters"), who also adapted the screenplay.
